Geoff Corkish MBE MLC joined the board as a Member in March 2014.
Having enjoyed a 37 year career with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, Geoff was elected in 2006 to Tynwald as MHK for West Douglas.
He has been a very active member of Tynwald, holding numerous positions. In 2007 he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Isle of Man Post Office. Following the general election in 2011, he was elected as Deputy Speaker of the House of Keys and appointed Chairman of the Post Office, a position he held until March 2014.
In 2013, Geoff allowed his name to go forward for the elections for the Legislative Council, and was successfully elected as an MLC.
Geoff is a fantastic ambassador for the Island, promoting the benefits at every opportunity to as wide an audience as possible. His interests are wide and varied, with a focus on music and charitable work. The 1983 Cleveland Gold Medallist at the Manx Music Festival, Geoff is a member of the Lon Dhoo Male Voice Choir, the Director of the IOM Festival of Choirs and a Trustee of the Douglas Buxton Music Trust. As Chairman of the IOM Arts Council, he plays a strong role in raising the profile of and increasing participation in culture and the arts.
