Culture Vannin was pleased to support the restoration of the Northern Railway goods shed, which is now home to a permanent exhibition on the history of Ballaugh. The building used to be part of Ballaugh station and is thought to be the last of its kind on the line.

Restoration work was carried out by volunteers in the Ballaugh Heritage Trust, and a successful event was held in May 2014 to celebrate the opening of the goods shed. Chairman Fenella Bazin described the event as 'a great community occasion with people of all ages involved ... between 2pm and 6pm there wasn't a moment where we didn't have a crowd of people in the shed. It has all made for a great community area in the heart of the village.'
